As the shadow crosses the moon
I took this photo a few nights ago as the sun went down. Macduff was walking away towards the sunset and every part of my being wanted to call him back to me, I felt he could disappear from me for ever, then he stopped and looked back.
This look back has stayed with me since, the need sometimes to reflect on the road travelled, the reassurance to others that you are still here and to yourself that you are indeed on this path, that there is movement, even if it is small.
Once again we arrive at the full moon position in the cycle and this feels like a time to look back and to look in before moving forward. As is always the way with the moon, it reverberates and reflects around and about so many aspects of life. As we transition into a new version of life outside the constraints of lockdown we can glance back over this strange path we have negotiated, considering what is left littered on it and what we have gathered along the way. In some ways there feels like such little movement but in others like we have quite literally trekked through lifetimes.
This moon is a big one, it contains an eclipse and it holds the energy of awakening into our deeper wisdom, a connection to a truer version of ourselves. As the shadow of the earth crosses the moon tonight we are gifted a moment to observe our own shadows. As the moon reaches her fullness and the darkness moves in, it provides a different sometimes uncomfortable kind of illumination to what lies within us. This can be an overwhelming energy to be in but awakenings are rarely comfortable, to sit in it is to really be here and to be here is to really see.
As always hold steady to the earth dear chums, blessings of the moon to you all x
